Looking to getting this.

How well is the rat working for you?

Straight retrieve or how are you using?

Color preference

Size preference?

@Advantage does really well with the 50 size Hippy Rat (Morning Dawn). I've caught fish with a straight retrieve but it seems like they really like it if you walk it.

Couldn't believe yesterday at Miola with water temps between 60 to 65 and bass were almost non-existent...except for 5-7 inchers! (Caught 3 in the 12-14 inch range and Shauer caught 1 that went @ 2 lbs and he had 2 in the 12-14 inch range). Water clarity was 6+ feet though from dam to about halfway back. Saw some whites and a few wipers hitting topwater but that was it.

Let the fish tell ya! Sometimes it's slow steady retrieve and sometimes it's walking the dog and sometimes pauses in between,

Killed em a couple weeks ago in mid 50 water temps with high winds just straight reeling it back.  One of my confidence baits now

I've only thrown it on one trip, but I got a 12", 2 2 pounders, and a 4 pounder in 30 minutes. All 4 came on a slow retrieve over grass with my rod tip near the water so it would dive down around 1 to 2 feet. I was using the 50 size in brown, water temp was around 60.

I fished my 40 sized rat on Saturday morning. After a couple of casts, I had a 3 lb (approximately) bass attack my lure. It had my rod bent a for a few seconds before jumping out of the water and shaking off the lure. To say the least, I was pretty disappointed. I am usually pretty good about pointing the rod low to keep the bass from jumping. But I was on the bank above the water so that was not possible.

I love the action of the lure and I am sure that I will get more chances with bigger bass, but I don't like the idea that the bass can throw a 1 oz lure so easily. I suppose that is just the price to pay for using heavy lures.
