Early on during the season is a large or small profile better?

I would say prespawn would be a larger profile. Post spawn smaller profile because of almost everything has spawned including forage fish, so lil ones are swimming about.

Crawdads are a favorite high protein food source for pre spawn bass and so are larger bait fish....try both.
