Friends stepped on my rod it's fine but a piece of epoxy chipped of the bottom is it fine or do I need to fix it! Please help cause I'm kinda freaking out haha. Brand new rod and I don't want to have to replace!!!!

It should be fine so long as you don't catch any fish on it. Also, make sure you wear safety glasses when you use it so that when the rod finally does snap, that guide won't put your eye out. Other than that I would only advise keeping it at least 50' away from water and you should be fine.

Can't tell if your being serious or not caught 3 bass on it after it chipped the guide is still intact and not bending it's Just that little part that chipped

Check the blank for any visible signs of compromise and put a good deep bend in it to test being sure not to bend the tip past 90* to the butt. Chances are at some point moisture will creep under the epoxy and soften the threads requiring a rewrap. Nothing imminent or catastrophic though . 

No, I'm just messing with you, my friend. I'm no expert on the structure of fishing rods, but from looking at your pic I would think it'll be just fine. I'm sure DVT or others will be along soon enough and can give you more expert advice.

If thats all that was done. Just put a dab of clear finger nail polish on it, and it will be just fine  Done it many times never any trouble.

Can you buy epoxy and just coat it again it's just a little chip under the guide and it seemed to hold up fine to a few fish, moisture is my only concern

If you're really concerned about it, you can order a 6 gram packet of ProKote epoxy from Mudhole for less than $3.00. Just put a little dab on it, and you should be fine.

Nope. DVT posted his response as I was typing mine. I typed that last line in a separate post and it just auto added it to my other one. Weird.

Recoating will make a clumpy finish and adhesion is a concern. A dab of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails is probably a better interim fix. 

That chip is so minor that, as others have stated, it will not fail the rod.  If the rod blank is damaged, it most likely will fail.  DVT has it right , in my opinion, but what I would do is to simply seal it off with a little dab of the Sally Hansen No Chip fingernail top coat.  Dries instantly, crystal clear, and tough.  The problem with someone not experienced with epoxy is that if it is not mixed properly before application, you end up with a sticky mess.  This repair only needs a little dab to seal off moisture intrusion, and Sally Hansen is pretty fool-proof.  don't cover the whole wrap, just the chip area.
