I know that used the right lure/bait for specific seasons is crucial. I am wondering if there are any charts or info somebody cant point me to that shows a monthly agenda such as how to fish, what water depth to fish, what kind of lures to use ( top or bottom, real or artificial, etc). I am in central florida. I know now that the hot season is coming and bass will be moving more towards deeper colder waters. I am confused as to when to use top water lures vs bottom. Thanks!

Bass relate to the predominate food source, replicate that with your lure of choice.

The presentation technique should allow the lure to be in front of active bass, speed preference changes constantly....trail and error.

There are no rules with bass

Pretty much the only givens are that jigs work year round and topwaters are a long shot in cold water.

There really is no right or wrong answer. Just when you think you have it all figured out the fish let you know that you don't  Trial and error like mentioned above.

Not all bass go deep either. Especially in shallower bodies of water. Every year I catch bass flipping in a couple feet of water when the water temp in in the 90's. I think it's mainly because the creeks are so shallow there is more oxygen up shallow around the grass mats

Thanks everybody, I plan to get more familiar with when to use which lure. My main concern is when to fish bottom vs top. Right now I been throwing a lot of Texas weightless zoom watermelon plastics. Have had a little success but not much and this is mainly probably Bc I've only had the time to fish mid day when the bass are less active.

what time frames are the best to fish bass. To my u derstand is before it gets too hot and before it gets too dark.

Bassin407, you can catch bass on top, at mid-depth, or on the bottom winter, spring, summer, or fall by simply changing locations!
