$200 combo

Featured Replies

Howdy. Looking for a rod and reel for $200 for my buddy. I have a discount at Abu, Lew's and Dobyns, so my buddy thinks I'm biased in my opinions (he's not wrong by any means). Give me your top combos for $200!

Lew's SS Tournament and a Fenwick Silverhawk on sale!

St croix mojo bass and a lews lfs speed spool

Original Tatula rod and reel for about $190

If you've got an academy close by gran and h20 express mettle and one of there ethos rods. Your looking at 120 with room left to buy another rod or reel. I've used a lot of different rods and reels over the years and these have became my favorite. I've broken two of the rods in the last I guess 4-5 years and they were completely 100% my fault academy still replaced them

I'd go with a Tatula combo. If he doesn't like that. Go with Abu Garcia Orra 2 SX with a Veritas Rod.

Quality combo and probably my favorite.  Thumbs up.  I hear the new Pflueger Supreme is pretty good.  Lews Tounament MB can be had for just under $109 with free shipping.

Shoot.  Are we talking casting or spinning?  I always go with casting for my first guess.

Top combos for $200 or less (all Casting):  6'10" MF Smallmouth / Curado 51E....Tatula 7'2" MHR (or the 7' MLR) / Tatula 100HL....7'2" M-MF HMG / Primmus....6'9" M-XF Smallmouth / Primmus

Less than $100, the 6'9" MF Daiwa VIP / Black Max 1600C and 6'10" HF Tour Edition / Trion are a couple very nice combos for the money.

All of my setups have a Lews Speed Spool LFS with them because I feel its the best bang for your buck reel in the $100 price point.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to get him to get a Tournament MB and a Dobyns Savvy. Or maybe a Mach I.
