What size crankbaits to use on a medium heavy rod with lure specs of 3/8-1oz

This is my last stupid question I'm just trying to find out what a good size lure I should use for these rods

If you are talking about a medium heavy rod with a fast action, the answer is no crankbait, that rod isn't good with most treble hook baits. The perfect baits to throw on that are a spinnerbait, 3/8oz and up, Texas rigged worms, the weight you use depends on the worm, the depth, and wheter you're casting of pitching. 1/4oz up to 3/4oz jigs with trailers, a 1/4oz jig with a chunk trailer is over 3/8oz. Now if you have a cranking rod 3/8oz to 1oz, well any crankbait in that weight range but I find there are some that I can throw 1/4oz baits with.

Ok first off a 1/4 oz crankbait does not weigh a 1/4 oz. The body does but add hooks, split rings, or rattles & it's probably 3/8 or more.

I don't blame you, I blame the InterWeb® and it's experts. Of course you are free to search for baits of any kind that match any rod you desire, however, that makes no sense from the fishing point of view. The lure is the starting point. The rod, , line and reel are the delivery system, so the question should be " What is the best rod to cast my Aska 60?", at that point the line question should arise, and finally that will lead us to the reel. Of course there are variables based on ergonomics, preference, and fishing conditions so there is no definitive answer.
