pitching and flipping setup

Featured Replies

So I currently have a Tatula rod with a curado g series (think 200) reel, that has become not too smooth that I want to replace for a strictly pitching and flipping setup. I want to either A: wait for the steez sv TW and pair it up with the tatula, and upgrade the rod next summer. B: Get a shimano curado 70 and pair it with a new shimano zodias. or C: Get a Daiwa Steez SV AGS casting rod and pair it with the curado and wait next summer pair it with the steez reel. I want something that will become my pitching and flipping setup for 16 lbs gamma fluorocarbon. The structure is logs, some pads, but mainly docks and logs, because it is a northern lake and the pads would be not as often as pitching to fallen trees and logs. Thats why I really like option B, for the X ship to crank the drag down all the way and get them to the boat ASAP. Advice appreciated, thanks!

I really like my Curado 70XG, but I've never done anything with the Zodias.

What rod do you use?

I have mine on a 7' MH Legend Tournament Bass rod with 15lb Tatsu. I've handled fish up to 65 pounds with it, so it should handle a bass in heavy cover.
