I just wanted to remind some of you NOT to put your jerkbaits away just yet.  They are an awesome post-spawn bait for those recooperating females, especially the ones that get down a little deeper.  You still need to pause them for awhile and that's what makes them an awesome choice for early post- spawn.    You're welcome. 

I never put mine away my friend, they have a use even in the heat of summer, I caught this one off of a primary point scattered with stumps on a bright sunny day with lots of wind on an LC Pointer 100, great info Papa!!

I used a Bomber Long A on a hunch a little while back on Okeechobee and had my limit within 2 hrs. I used long hard pulls and just let it back up (That's why I only use those) to the surface, give it a twitch and Bam!

Not quite what I was expecting, went just under 8lbs on the scale. Lucky Craft!

They aren't in my boat from about May until October. Jerkbaits and muddy water don't mix. I've tried them in our clearer lakes and to say the results are lackluster would be an understatement. 

I use them all year round if I have clear enough water. I do change tactics though, in the warm water period I like floating jerkbaits, if you ever have clear water and shallow weed beds, try working a 13 size Rapala original floater or a Bagley Bang-O-Lure over top really fast, rip-rip rip- 1 second pause and rip-rip-rip again and see what that gets ya!!!!! I've had some of the most violent strikes with those baits when a soft jerkbait just got a small glance.
