Missing the guide on my Phenix XG1 crankbait rod. It's the one before the tip. 

 

Does anyone know the size and a good brand replacement? I know phenix uses essex sic but I heard they are exclusive to them. 

 

Tried contacting phenix and no reply.

 

Size 6 is the most common running guide but that pic looks more like an 8. Look at some of the rod building sites for a match. Mudhole, get bit, Jann's 

That's a mighty big guide to be that far out on a rod!

I've rewrapped several rods replacing the all double foot guides with smaller singles and the difference is amazing.

Significant weight reduction where it matters........the top 1/3 of the rod.

Yes it's the reduced weight. Better balance , crisper feel and more sensitive.
