I have a Tatula Type R and I love it except for how bulky it is, just uncomfortable to me. What is a Daiwa reel that you would recommend for me?

The Tatula CT Type R? CT is the new compact version. 

Tatula CT is more compact sure... But it depends what your'e looking for.

Are you looking for a true compact size reel?  Alphas platform looks to be pretty dang sweet.  

Fuego, zillion sv tw, and sv 103 too.

I think I'm gonna go with the SV 103.

That reel looks awesome.  I love the fact that the spool is compatible with the steez and tdz platform.

If you're referring to the sv 103 that is based off the original zillion platform you might not like it in terms of size. It's also a larger framed reel like the Tatula. The new ct is a tad smaller than the original Tatula but not by much. The alphas sv is much smaller in terms of size when palming. The sv 103 is a great reel though. It somehow has kinda flown under the radar. The good thing about ordering a reel from TW though is that they will let you exchange it if you're not happy. 

I bought a T3 off of one of the members here and it palms wonderfully

I read it wrong, I was actually talking about the ss sv 103

The Alphas series of reels are pretty light and palm very well. The T3 reels are a small step behind the Alphas in both. The SV 103 with a body based on that of the TDZ/Original Zillion is very palmable but not like the Alphas. The SS SV 103 is based off the Steez for the most part. I would say it is on par with the Alphas.

Where do you buy the Alphas?

If you're interested in a T3 I have a T3 MX I'm selling...

In reality, the only one that can tell you which reel will fit you best is you. Find a dealer and mount the various models on the rod you plan on pairing it to.  You're looking at spending some serious cash, shouldn't your homework include some experimentation?

"IF" he has a local shop near him that carries Daiwa reels especially these mid to higher end. I know there is no local shop by me that does since BPS has changed their preference to Lews.

I bought mine from Digitaka. I twas about $185 late in the fall of 2015. Now I believe the reels are closer to $200 with the current exchange rate.

Alphas are sold all over.  Epay has the new sv.  Older SOL reels have the same frame.  I love the orange side plates!

Ended up getting the Alpha SV 105SH
