When is the best time to use the whopper plopper

When the fish are shallow

 

Lol I'm sorry, I don't own one I these lures but I always have the best success with top water early and late in the day

It's an all day long bait for me. Not looking for numbers of fish with it generally, more looking for better quality. It will draw strikes in the middle of a sunny day, sometimes better than during lowlight conditions. 

The best time is post spawn through the fall. Like bluebass said its not just a early morning evening thing but all day.  

 

I have the smaller profile Whopper Plopper, and I haven't fished it as much as I would like too.

Gonna' throw it a little more tomorrow when I get out. Have heard they produce though from just about everybody! 

Haven't had much luck with mine yet... had a blow up on it tonight, that's about it.  I have high hopes for it, but it's been a pain in my butt so far.  It's a magnet for any vegetation floating/growing in the water...
