mounting of transducers on bass tender

Featured Replies

: My question is about transducer placement. I bought a sliding bracket that mounts to the transome and holds the  tranducer so it can be raised and lowered to match the water line. This Bracket is sold by Cabalas and BPS. the problem is the backet is to be put on the transome where the outboard or trolling motor is placed. The Lowrance X125 Manual said the transducer has to be 12 inches away from the motor to avoid water disturbance. My problem is the only way for the bracket to work is it will be like 6 inches away from the outboard. Will it still work or is it better to mount in the bow mounted to a trolling motor? PS there is no mounting block built into the transom you would be drilling holes below the waterline which is something I don't want to do.

Try mounting the transducer mount to a small piece of metal sheeting and glueing the metal sheet to the boat. A piece of wood also works.. Did that on my Duracraft Boat
