rod bases/holders

Featured Replies

So I'd like to look into some sort of temporary or removable rod holder bases/holders to mount on the gunnel of my new Ranger RT178.  I do not want to drill any holes and I do not want to scratch up the new shiny paint job.  I don't do a lot of trolling so it would be nice to remove them relatively easy when I want to, but I also don't want to hold my rod n reel when I troll.  Any suggestions?

As far as a gunnel mount with no holes? i dont know

I've seen some that utilize seat bases, whether its a 3/4 pin, or the 2" pulltab version

If you want them on the gunnel and don't want to drill holes, I think this is about your only option. They aren't great though. Otherwise you could probably fab sometihing similar up with larger c-clamps bolted to a piece of wood that you could mount some bases on. It'd give you a better rod holder as well as more clamping power. Just be sure to use something to prevent the clamps from marking  up your boat.

Look at drift master. Thy have small bases you mount and the rod holders screw into them. There hardly noticeable when the rod holders aren't in them.  I haven't found any clamp on rod holders worth a crap
