Can anyone give me some advice on changing out treble hooks? I cant seem to figure it out 

Explain a little more about what's giving you trouble. Normally trebles come off just like a key on a ring.

I have split ring pliers, maybe I'm just retarded, I'll try again ?

It can be annoying expect ally when your getting poked every so often. I will say there is a difference between good pliers and cheap pliers

I have some small crankbaits that I have to change hooks on once in a while. The tiny split rings can be tough. I own a fly tying vice that come in very handy to hold on to the lure or the metal loop the split ring attaches to. Saves me a lot of time and frustration.
