Fenwick Aetos

Featured Replies

I saw FFO has the Aetos 6'4'' medium xfast for $75 plus a additional 15% off.. Seems like it will make a jerkbait/topwater rod.. To me it seems like a odd length for  bass rod these days,I wonder if it was made as a walleye rod.

Does anyone have any experience with it ? Thoughts ?.

I bought the same rod over the winter from FFO for the same applications. The rod is gorgeous, light, action is very "crisp". I love the handle and reel seat. Although, I have been more successful with it for topwaters than jerkabits (however, never much gotten the hang of jerkbaits with any rod, so there is that). It absolutely rocks a Pop Max.

This time of year mine makes a pretty nice soft jerkbait rod.  It works well for topwater baits as well.

It may have the same blank taper and action as a typical 6'6" , but a slightly shorter handle.  My Abu Garcia Ike series jerkbait/top water rod is exactly like that.  He did it so you can give a good cadence to the bait without smacking your forearm with the back of the rod handle each time.

I own 2 Aetos. Awesome rods! That's a great deal. You won't be disappointed.
