Fishing neighborhood lake with no structure

Featured Replies

The obvious first question is how do you know there's bass in there? If there is bass there, they'll relate to the bottom somehow or they may be under docks on really hot days.

Throwing baits in a bottom full of weeds/vegetation is a pain in the arse. Try a weighted hook with a fluke or small swimbait type bait. Rig it weedless so the hook isn't constantly getting snagged. Huck that bait out, let it sink to the bottom and give it a little tug to the side maybe about a foot or so. Reel in the slack and keep repeating the process. So tug, let it sink, tug, let it sink, etc. Don't get any bites after the 3rd cast, cast it in a different spot and repeat.

Dropshotting is cool but you'll want to get a weight that won't get so snagged up with weeds and you'll need to experiment with how far you want the bait above the weight.
