Do I buy a shimano Cumara for 160, or should I keep looking for a different rod?

Well are you referring to the Gen1 or Gen 2 Cumara rods. Most prefer the Gen1 sometimes referred to as the charcoal or black blanks. I have 4 of those (2 casting and 2 spinning). They are great rods with great looks.

What model are you looking at? As long as it fits what you are looking for spec wise it would be a good buy. They used to retail for around $240.

If they are the Gen 1, I'd get it.  If it's the red one that is getting phased out, I'd say no and save your money for a Zodias.

I have two Gen 1 Cumaras and they're awesome rods.  Have not owned any Gen 2 Cumaras though.

Nothing wrong with the red cumaras. I have 8 of them and love each one. Can find em cheaper than $160 too.

Welcome aboard!

For $160, I'd say a Cumara is a decent deal.

Thats a good price, if you want something a little better id pay for a zodias, best rods ive ever had. I now have 6
