I recently purchased a bait cast reel. I accidentally dropped it into the water. now it is ultra loud and does not cast very far. i also lost the spool tension knob due to a faulty bearing clip. the loud part(s) are in between the drag and the spool area. I'm not sure how to access it and find out what is wrong.

Still got the receipt? Go refund it lol. Might help if you tell us what reel it is. You should never have to take the spool tension knob completely off to adjust a lure.  As far as the reel being loud you Might have rusted bearings, on cheaper reels they don't use anti rust bearings.

You need your reel cleaned and relubed. You also need to buy a new cast control knob or you wont cast efficiently. A "faulty bearing clip"  doesn't cause that To fall off. The caps are threaded on and the only way for them to come off is if you remove them by backing them off too far. Without the tension knob it's probably a loose spool swaying side to side on the retrieve and cast creating a knocking noise? It also wouldn't help to relube it.
