Live Wells

Featured Replies

Do any of you have actual aeration systems connected to their live well tanks along with the fresh water pumping in.

Are you refering to the oxygen injection systems or the recirculation pumps?

Most boats have a recirculation system that only puts fresh lake water into the live well. I am wondering if anyone has added an oxygen injection system to the live wells to help put more oxygen into the livewell.

I installed one in my boat and love it. It keeps the fish alive and healthy. I am using the Big Bubbles system and it is inexpensive and works great. Keeps the fish going even in the Texas summer heat.

While I don't have an injection system, I do have what I believe is called the pro max air which came with my Triton. This particular recirculation system uses the water that is already in the live well and mixes it with air that is sucked in just behind the driver's seat. If you put your finger over the little hole that the air goes into you can actually feel the suction. This sysytem has kept my fish very healthy in during several 90+ tournament days.

I installed a aeration system to my livewells. It has been a couple of years since I have reworked my livewells but I think it was a fish-rite mfg?

I am glad I did this. This aeration device attached to my livewell pump. I have yet to lose a fish in my livewells since installation!  This system aerates my livewells wether I am recirculating or drawing in fresh water.
