Upton's UC 10" Worm

Featured Replies

I might pick up a pack or two of these to try this summer on T-rig and C-rig. I have never used these worms before, but they seem pretty bulky just looking at the pictures. I was wondering what hooks would be best to use with these (Hook style as well as hook size). I really don't use larger worms a ton, I've had a little experience with 10" curly tail powerbait worms on C-rigs, but that's it. I might also try the Manns Jelly's as well. Any advice would be great!

I'd probably run a 5/0 EWG unless there was something specific I was trying to accomplish.

I use a 5/0 ewg.  Your gonna want more than 2 bags.  There pretty awesome worms

I use 5/0 Owner #5103 round bend straight shank worm hook, 1/4 or 3/8 oz painted bullet weight T -rigged. Uptons worms are hand pours that are softer than mass produced injection molded worms, the hook penetrates easily so you don't need EWG style hooks IMO. You might want to consider Mend It worm glue if smaller bass are tearing the worms up.

Fish the UC worm a little slower than a ribbon tail it has it's own high floatation natural action.

Good luck.

Owner Oversize Worm Hook in 7/0 , i like to throw them either weightless in 3-10 ft. of water or if going deeper i use up to a 1/4 ounce weight as i like to keep the worm horizontal , fishing it slowly with subtle jerks letting it slither through grass .

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll probably be picking up 2 bags to try, and I'll probably go with WRB's suggestion on the hooks.
