I got an email from St Croix that Triumph X spinning and casting rods are on sale for $60 with free shipping. I've personally never owned one but it seems like a decent price.

That is a great price for their entry level rod. I make no insult by saying that, St Croix does not build junk. Another rod to consider is a Powell Diesel which is also the entry level Powell. It retails for $75  and feel really nice in my hand. I just held some this afternoon at my local tackle shop. 

I got that email today too.  60 bucks for their Triumph models free shipping.  Triumph series is their lowest based product in terms of quality (I think they're made in China) but they're still decent rigs especially for 60 bucks free shipping.

I'm tempted to get their 5'0" UL for trout fishing, but the MSRP on that rod is $90, not the $100 they have listed, so I feel like I'm being overcharged!
