Great, I just ordered a new reel yesterday, will grab some 10 lb line when i pick it up at Cabelas.

I was always afraid of the smaller diameter would dig into itself. I grew up using 14lb mono and above.

I throw a lot of top water poppers and buzzbaits (90%) of my fishing with a few Rapala floaters sometimes. Can get either reel same price, which one would be better choice?

Has anyone tried the new Daiwa Tatula SV TW reel? Just ordered one from Bass Pro with gift cards. None in stock to go out and check out in person.

How is Lake St. Clair in a kayak? I usually go to Lake Orion or Wolverine Lake? Im only 5 miles from Metro never took kayak over there. If looking for new rod check online, Cableas in Chesterfield pretty bare last week. Im going to try a Berkley rod on sale for $35.00. (have 3 Fenwicks)

Have bought multiple rods from Cabelas and like thay say, thick cardboard tube. Rod is in a plastic bag.

Just bought a Shimano Stradic CI4+ spinning reel, moved handle to right side and while reeling felt odd. While holding reel can feel and see handle movement back and forth like loose in the housing. Is this normal on Shimano reels? (1st one bought)

I picked up a St. Croix Premier MF casting rod super cheap (used but like new). Would this be an ok rod for shallow crankbaits?

I have a cheap rod and zebco 202 Im taking to trade in at Bass Pro Sunday. I will be building my own combo, I like to make sure I have a good balance and its feels right. With the trade in plus sales I can get a nice combo.

Has anyone fished with the new Abu Garcia Revo Ike Spinning reel? Some wild colors and cost as much as the Sradic CI 4.

Bass Pro is putting that Berkley rod on sale next week at the Fishing Classic, also will be offering trade in sale on other rods. I use a Fenwick HMG 6' from my kayak and my son use teh Abu garcia Villain 6'3" and have had no problems. I tried a 6'6' Vendetta last year and it worked fine. I would not go above 6'6' personally

I used a Shimano spinning reel with a trigger to pull bail back, think it was the IX for $12.00 for years, even learned how to fish from kayak with. Caught lot of bass and Pike with this reel. Traded them at BPS fishing classic still going strong at that time.
