BM bait coffin, any users?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So I've been using the Plano/FTO terminal tackle box for a few years. 2 things are driving me nuts with it to the point I'm giving up on it. 1 the latches constantly pop off 2 some of the smaller hooks are always ending up in other compartments.

Looking at the Bass Mafia box but wondering if anyone has the same issue with small stuff leaving one compartment to another when moving box. Wether it's getting banged around on rough water or simple transport. It looks like the dividers don't reach the top of each row in the pics. But haven't seen one in person.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I use 1 3700 red coffins for terminal and 1 3700 deep red for jigs. Love them. They have tons of storage and my stuff never gets messed up.

Even like loose drop shot hooks and small beads and stuff?

Nope. Those dividers are pretty snug. I used a small bead of super on the bottom of my DS and wacky hook dividers just in case. No issues.

I also like the plano waterproofs with the 3 latches and red gasket. I keep certain soft baits in those.

I have a couple of those but had same issue hooks ended up everywhere. Guess I'm gonna have to splurge on a bait coffin.

You won't have any problems with stuff getting messed up. I have one and I've used it for jigs and terminal tackle down to #4 ds hooks no problems. The dividers are snug and I love how they're pre-cut, I'm lazy llol

The Bass Mafia Bait Coffin is ideal for terminal tackle.  I was frustrated with "tackle migration" issues in various Plano boxes and decided to cough up the dough for a Bait Coffin.  It's very heavy, but keeps everything in its place.  Five Stars!

Tight lines,

Bob

They're coming out with a new one specifically designed to hold a ton of deep diving crankbaits, it looks pretty sick.

My bait coffin holds all of my terminal tackle with no migration issues.Like iaBass8, the waterproof Planos do a good job also and they're significantly cheaper

I use the Plano 3701 boxes but slightly modified. I use hat rubberised shelving mat in the lid. Makes a snug fit and nothing ever swaps compartments. They sell it at Walmart cheap for a roll. Just cut a piece that fits inside the lid and glue it in. I used Gorilla glue making sure to follow the directions and it's been flawless. I did Gorilla the little dividers in as well but that was just for me I didn't want them ever coming out.

Much much less expensive than the coffin. I just couldn't justify that kind a dough just to hold tackle.
