St Croix Panfish L or UL?

Featured Replies

Looking for a rod to throw my crappie jigs I tie, usually 1/32-1/8 jigs. I would be catching crappie, perch, and any other panfish. There's always the occasional chance for a bass too. I was looking at the 7' L X-Fast and the 6'9" UL Fast. I'm leaning towards the UL because from my experience St. Croix rods run a little heavier than listed.

I have the 7' L and wished I had gotten the UL just like you are thinking!

I almost bought the panfish series for stream trout. Go UL for those weights. Plus...UL are just plain fun to fish.

I have the L version of this rod and love it  Lightest I throw is 1/16th and it throws them a long distance with light line.  Either way you go you will like the rod.
