Rod Locker

Featured Replies

Anyone know where to find a lockable bar that goes accross the deck to keep folks from opening your important storage areas? I saw one on a commercial but I did not get the manufacturer name.

Here is a Loc-R-Bar.  http://www.locrbar.com/?from=***

Warning:  If someone really wants to get in there they can.  I'm sure Matt_Fly can attest to that with all the burglaries that are happning down at Lake Fork.  Many of those boats had some sort of anti-theft device on them.

Kinda like owning a jeep, if they want they will get it. It is all a matter of how much time they have, and how much they want to trash your stuff. I never lock my jeep, if someone wants in they can open the door instead of slashing my top, on that note I don't keep anything worth steeling in there.

Hey I'm not sure if this was offered by an after market company or boat maker but I saw a boat alarm system. Obviously not gonna keep people out like the bar but might help attract attention if someone tries.

I am just looking for something to lock my rod locker and the area I store my depth finders in when i bring the boat to work for afternoon fishing.

Another company that sells a lock bar is Osprey Products. if you want their website just send me a PM.

Been living in a litt Pueblo in Baja Mexico for the last three years ::). Never lock anything, never had anything touched...in town or out at the esteros.. ;D

Something to be said about family values and respect :).....yards of it down there. What are we doing wrong here? :-/

You might be better served to just install locks in the locker doors.  You know the round cam locks you can get them at lowes or home depot.  All you can really hope to do is deter a casual thief or slow down a determined one.  I don't know how the "lockerbar" works but it sounds like it attaches to you gunnel... sounds like fiberglass repair if you encounter a determined thief.

My boat came with the cam locks on the rod boxes but nowhere else, I installed them on other storage areas for under $10 each, including harware and strap metal to reinforce the area around the lock.

You could lock up your electronics in your vehicle or take it/them in to work with you.
