The Weed Vaccuum..AKA Whopper Plopper

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any tools or tricks that they use to clean the weeds out from the joint of the bait where it spins? Personally I blow very hard on the area and it gets the grass to expose from the joint and then I can pull it out by hand, but I can never quite get it all the way clean. I am not fishing the bait in weedy areas at all, its just that windy days like today stir up the water and little tiny blades of grass get sucked up so easily with the bait. Its very frustrating to fish with when every other cast you have to operate on the bait to get it to work again, but boy is it worth it. Definitely a big fish bait in the 130 and 190 size.

dental pick.  couple dollars at menards for a whole set

Agreed on a small pick, always have to carry one anyways for those crazy back lashes:huh:. The little whopper plopper is a fun  bait to fish!

I usually just use the air nozzle on my compressor and blow it all out

Why did I never think to carry one in my boat?  Oh yea, I don't own a Whopper Plopper.  Silly me.
