I was thinking of hosting a MLF style fishing tournament and was wanting to know if anyone on here has hosted one, or participated in one and what were your thoughts on it.

I would be using the Scoretrackerlive app.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked out IndyLeagueFishing? Supposed to be MLF type deal.

We do our weeknight tournaments similar to the MLF style, except we still do biggest 5 instead of any bass over 12". I really enjoy it and everyone else seems to as well. It's certainly much easier on the fish to be released almost instantly and it's easier on us not having to worry about fish care all night when temps are sometimes near triple digits. It's an added bonus that we fish mainly lakes less than 200 acres so literally anyone with a boat can compete. We've had lots of 2 man style boats, johnboats, even a kayaker.

I like the idea of not having to use a live well. The mortality rate of tournament quality fish is too high. Kayak fishing tournaments do a CPR (catch pic release) style is similar to MLF stuff. I doubt bass masters or any of the big dogs will change the way they hold their tournaments.

My club is thinking about doing MFL style. I my self would like it but I don't know how there going to do it. But It doesn't matter because it looks like I'm not going to be able to fish any tournaments next year.
