I'm fishing from the bank at a pressured pond.the bass bite has slowed down drastically and now i might catch a half pounder if im lucky.any suggestions on baits or rigs ishould try to get the bitw back? My other question is ive resorted to try. To. Entice the night bite  I'm fishing a 10 inch worm and I'm not sure if I'm fishing it right how slow should you fish it and do you do any shaking or popping with it please help me?

I'm in Florida so take this for what it's worth.

I use a black 12 inch worm with as light a sinker as you can get away with. Here's the catcher - a cast/retrieve should take a minimum of three, that's right, THREE MINUTES !  Just crawl it along the bottom. They know it's there. If you work the lure any faster you might as well not even go.

Move on up to a bigger worm (snake) 16-18 inches.....( I hafta make my own....glue or melt two 10 inch worms together (ripple tail section of

one to head section of another and no weight....slowly swim back on top or slightly sub-surface....Yu will be amazed...!!

Davecon is right...well, half right...lol. I use 10" and larger worms a lot, and either run it like Davecon said, or like holeshot said. Fishing a larger worm/snake in the middle of the water column is not best use for that bait. Tantalizingly slow on the bottom or running on the top is the way to go.

As to other baits, try Slider fishing...it is my #1 tactic for pure numbers, and have caught bass up to 5lbs on this technique.

I fish them with 3/16-3/8 bullet weight and gammy ewg monster hook. Usually use 40lb samurai braid or 17lb fluoro. I always put a glass rattle or two in the worm at night as I usually get more bites vs no rattle. I also use some type of liquid scent. Anything i can do to make it easier for the fish to find it. If you don't get bites try scaling the worm down some. I use 7 and 10 inch black berkley powerworms, but any ribbon tail, curly tail, or paddle tail works. I work them very slow and shake the rod to create maximum movement in the strike zone. I'd also try some black 1/4-3/4 spinner baits with a large single Colorado blade,  black jigs, and black buzzbaits at night. Maybe a jitterbug, whopper plopper, or buzz jet if you don't have a ton of cover. If you try the treble lures though keep reeling til you feel the fish before setting the hook. 

What 10" worm are you fishing? Ribbon tail or straight? I do well with big ribbon tails on 1/2oz magnum spot removers

There isn't a right or wrong way to fish big worms, it's called trail and error.

Berkley Power worms are popular night for night bass fishing and the standard sliding sinker T-rig works good. I would start with a 3/16 to 1/4 oz bullet weight, Owner 5103 size 5/0 hook and use 15 lb mono like Big Game. Fish a big worm same as a standard size worm and try various retreives until you find what the bass will react to. Cast let sink to the bottom,shake it a few times, move a foot or so and repeat works most of the time.

slider fishing is the bomb !!!!!!!!!!!

Culprit 10"/12" worm curly tail , shad or black shad, or red shad. I put it on a weighted jig head. Then reel it in slow. Adding a work rattle plus a shot of bass scent too.

inline spinners can be very productive too like a Mepps Anglia, Joesfly bass size,  strike king, panther Martin. Reel it just fast enough to spin the blades.

crypt, have you tried Slider on Big O? I love throwing BIG lizards on Slider heads through the grass using 30lb braid...lots of quality fish. I bet the smaller lakes up your way love Slider fishing...might have to take a trip soon.

why mono?

I use mono night fishing because of better knot strength when re tieing in the dark and the bass aren't line shy, no reason to use FC.

yes during the spawn when they get finicky I throw a slider through boat cuts,flats and can tear em up.

I use ball bearing locking snap swivels. Don't forget to retie often. Change the snap swivels often too. As our catch increases so does the wear and tear on our equipment too.

you want bigger worms ? try some Upton's worms !! he makes 13'', 16'' , & 20'' worms plus a 17'' paddle tail worm ...
