I think if I was forced I'd go with SK - just because of the other baits besides the soft plastics being involved.

I don't understand your point.  Do you have a problem with Midwest Finesse baits being called Neg Rigs?  Do you believe that ZMan products such as the TRD are not part of the Midwest Finesse system?  Do you believe there is no difference between a 3" senko on a football head jig and a TRD on a Shroomz head jig?  Were you once wronged by a man named Ned?

I'm not all surprised to see gycb still in the lead. Considering the senko army. Out of all the 300 views only 26 have voted..  it takes two seconds.. maybe they don't use either company... or maybe too torn to vote.. if I could only use one company ... like strike king or gycb and NOTHING else.  I think It would be alot easier to catch bass year round using many different baits with strike king.. I think the plastics edge slightly tips toward gycb. But the hardbaits are a no brainer IMO

Outdoor writer Ned Kehde stuck a broken half of a used senko on a mushroom head jig, and fished it on a particularly slow bite.  He was able to generate numbers , on a consistent basis, and developed certain presentations that worked well.  Then it was over thought, extensively written about, and now there "proper" Ned rig baits and accessories.

You can T-Rig a plastic using a tiny trout hook, but it is less effective than using something designed specifically for that application.  That doesn't make the latter over thought.

I'll just say that they are marketed as thus.  You can break off a any stick worm, and stick on a gopher jig.  I've been known to bite plastics to shorten them for a smaller profile. A "jig-worm" is probably the first finesse technique I learned to use after the split shot rig.  The weight in both situations was necessary since plastics in those days did not have salt and floated.

Well, if YOU have been known to shorten plastics for a smaller profile, I guess that settles it.  (looking furiously for the sarcasm font...)

I'm never one to invent anything, but a lot of the time, I just try different stuff.  Out of 4" worms? Have a bunch of 7" worms?  Bite them man! And be sure to spit the head at your partner!  There's nothing groundbreaking about the Ned rig.  Ned himself tells the story as if it was a fluke, a challenge he made to himself: "Can I reuse these busted senkos? What's the best way to fish them?  Oh, they look good on these gopher jigs.  Now let me try to swim them back slowly and deliberately..."  The original article in In-Fisherman even had pictures of homemade jigs, with a thread wrapped backer to build up the head size to mach the girth of the bait.  He might have even had one deressed in marabou - that's been a staple in crappie fishing for half a century. And it wasn't just senkos that were depicted as viable trailers.  It's that kind of on the water problem solving that I think is cool.  Now it's a heavily marketed bait and style. Good for him.  People have been putting plastics of all sorts on a jighead since the birth of plastic baits.

You have stumped me. I can't figure out what the " *** " in the line "since the *** of plastic baits" stands for.  

I don't know any 3 letter synonyms for the word "dawn" or "beginning", so I don't know if that is what it stands for.  Is it a 3 letter cuss word?  That would be unique.  An East Coast slang maybe, something that hasn't yet made it out to the West Coast?

I picked strike king and have never tried the ocho ! Ha-ha 

I use Yum or Kinami mostly. Yamamotos senkos are the ones I like the most but the higher cost is what keeps me from using GYCB.

I don't use GYCB because they are too expensive and fragile so I voted for Strike King.

21 of 36 disagree..  I use both. Since my daughter has been born. (10 months ago) I think I have bought one thing from gycb ( so I agree)  And a few packs of the rage tails (only a couple dollars difference) . That can add up tho . Rather quickly.

When I think GYCB I think "Senko".  I bought a couple bags, burned through them very quickly, and then switched to YUM Dingers and BPS Stik-Os.  Works for me, way cheaper and they last longer.  But to each his own.

Your poll only had two choices:  SK or GYCB.  Because the SK catalog is so much bigger it's a no-brainer to pick SK.  Not only plastics, but crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, etc.  So IMO, if your hypothetical poll became reality I don't think many people would pick GYCB because the bait choices would be too limited.
