Tackle storage has always been a problem for me, especially because I'm pretty limited on space. I've tried wall pegs, tackle boxes, and bins, but they either take up too much space or are too unorganized. 

I had an old plastic drawer lying around and added a few cardboard strips to hold all my treble hook lures. Take a look:

Ever since I started doing this I've been able to fit all my tackle in a small closet in a relatively organized manner, and it's much easier than sorting through a box of tangled and rusted hooks. Just thought I'd share my solution with others. Hope this helps!

 

Pretty ingenious...if the cardboard starts to fail, you can get some corrugated plastic to replace it with.

I have a back pack. Two guide series tackle boxes. A small tackle bag (all filled with planos) And and another small bag I keep miscellaneous things in. I have 2 large , deep totes. I just stick em in there. Stack em on top of each other in the garage. They do fine In the winter . And don't melt in the summer.  

So the lures go in a Plano, in a bag or box, then in a tote. No worries about the elements or any possible critters. And not taking up space in my house. 

My daughter does that enough with all her toys. I'd say all the toys that she doesn't need... but I'd look like a hypocrite with all my fishing stuff. Lol. So she definitely needs all of it. Every single bit. 

Consolidating tackle causes me anxiety. So hard to do, the "What If" factor starts to enter my mind, and I have a hard time condensing, but I am forcing myself to sell lures that are still shiny and have been in a box for several years. I doubt I will pull out that Strike Pro Crankbait I purchased 3 years ago if I have not used it now, but it is not an easy task....

looks good if you want to open the drawer and look at them , but for storage and minimizing space , seems that if you put those baits in a 3700 size plano ( looks like all those baits would fit in 1 or 2 ) , you could fit 3 or 4 plano's in that drawer .

Hanging lures with treble hooks too closely together side by side can result in tangled hooks and makes it difficult to remove a lure.

I have a vintage Philson tackle box made by Kennedy that is 17H- 18"L- 12"W with 2 stacks of 6 trays with 5 3/4"L-1  3/8W-1  3/8H cork lined compartments that hold 144 lures, each in it's own seperate compartment. The bottom of the box is open storage for reels, line or whatever. I keep may antique lures and some reels stored in this old aluminum tackle box. Back in the 60's I carried this tackle around in my aluminum boat, when fully opened it's over 5' wide, you open 1 tray stack or all 6 on both sides. I always thought the design was ingenious!

I found that I like to store and label my plano boxes to the type of lures in them. I use the same size boxes to make them store easier.

sounds like you would have to of towed that box behind the your boat on a dinghy !!!   

Interesting way to store lures.I store my lures in Plano tackle boxes and big old fashioned tackle boxes.
