Are There Any Healthy Gizzard Shad Population In The North East?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there are any healthy Gizzard Shad populations anywhere in New England? I wonder if they would survive in a lake in southern NH

Never heard of any around here, but your home pond has one of the only healthy alewives populations around..bass gobble them up.

Yep, there's a bunch of roaming pods in there.

Southern Lake Champlain has a ton of gizzard shad

Alewifes are part of a lot of big lakes in PA. Solid food source for bass & stripers.
