Shimano Conquest HG 200 line capacity

Featured Replies

Hello,

Both Japan Angler and Japan Lure Shop list the Conquest HG 200 as having a line capacity of 180m (195y) of 12lb nylon.

Tacklewarehouse lists the line capacity for the Calcutta Conquest 200 as 110 yds of 12lb nylon.

Is this data correct? Is the Conquest HG 200 that much bigger than the US non-HG version?

Thanks!

Both are technically correct and both reels are the same size. The difference is in listed line diameters for the USDM and JDM. 12lb line in america is typically around .33mm and actually breaks around 15lbs, but they underrate it to make it look like it's super strong for the line class. While Japanese 12lb line is typically around .285mm and actually breaks at 12lb. It will basically hold 190ish yards of 12lb Sunline, Seaguar, Toray, etc., or 110 yards or so of Berkley, Sufix, or similar US-rated line.
