On a standard pocket knife such as a stockman, or trapper, does anyone know what is meant by "ringed  bolster"? Also pinched bolsters.

I see what you're talking about. I am looking at a knife from Smoky Mountain Knife Works. It has ringed bolsters. Wasn't quite sure what that meant. I know there are so cheapie knives with little clip on bolsters. Absolutely don't want that.

From what I can tell, the bolster is the ends of the knife body. Whether it's ringed or pinched depends on how the maker scribes or fashions said bolsters??!!

Here is the place to look

I used to live down the street from these guys when they were at their old warehouse and while they didn't have a storefront, they would let me order stuff online and walk down to pick it up to save on shipping.  Real nice bunch of dudes.

Thanks for the link.

I recently lost my EDC Spyderco Ladybug and was in the market for a new knife for my keychain.

I was going to go with the Spyderco Clipitool with the bottle opener but decided against it because of the non-locking slipjoint mechanism it uses.

I went with the Kershaw Cinder which is just the right size, has a bottle opener and a liner lock. Its my first Kershaw. I have heard good things about them on these forums.

Little knife porn for you guys!!
