Metanium MGL

Featured Replies

So I recently purchased a second metanium mgl as I absolutely loved the first one I purchased. Btw I ordered both of these from Japan. Anyways the reel came with the drag completely off and I engaged the handle and began reeling and it made a very bad noise/vibration and grinding. But when I turn the drag on it doesn't do this but still makes a slight noise. My first one didn't do this. I Would appreciate if someone could tell me what's wrong

I have indeed seen/heard of this. Especially on reels from over seas. I do not know why just from over seas but this is the 4th one I've heard of.

Backing the drag all of the way off is allowing the AR sleeve to hang and the most likely cause was "hung" anti-reverse and when you turned the handle it broke it free but now you will have a noisy AR clutch.

Tick tick tick tick? If so that is most likely the cause. AR will need changed.

Is it the Anti reverse ratchet that would need replacing?
