simple jig question

Featured Replies

Ok, so i found out that the lake i fish DOES have crawfish in it...but they are all  a redish color. Would it be effective to use a black/blue, black, brown, etc jig? Thanks

It depends on the color of the water! If it is clear I would fish greens or browns and die the claws red. If the water is stained I would go with dark colors black/blue woul;d be good.

Theres only one way to find out, bass are offertunistic. Depending on what you offer them. Honestly i would try and match my lures to the color similar to the crayfish.

Jigs can imitate alot more than crawfish. It can look like a sunfish, shad, baby turtle, a frog and basicly anything that bass eat. The most inportant thing in getting your presentation looking like the real thing is action, not color.

JMHO :)

Crawfish change color year round & I don't think the bass know when this occurs  ;D

The common crawfish color is black with red, green, brown, or blue highlights  :)
