Folks,

I am lucky to be able to get Loomis rods at a 40% discount.

I am putting together a crainkbait rod for shallow to medium depths.

GLX 845

E6X 845c

Fiber Blend CBR 845.

 

Any input is appreciated.  The Fiber blend has peaked my interest.

As much as I like spending someone else's money I can't think of a good reason to tell you to get the GLX crankbait rod. Get the E6x and save your cash for a GLX bottom contact rod.

This is what I was thinking, until I saw the Fiber blend and it got my wheels turning...thanks

Unless your a pro or got a money tree out back a highly sensitive crankbait rod isn't a necessity. Get yourself a nice NRX bottom contact rod with your discount.

i like the 845 for an all around shallow to medium crankbaits rod. But as I have aged I can't bring myself to spend more than what is absolutely necessary on a rod for that purpose. If these are the only rods you are considering, I'd go with the e6x. It will be sensitive enough and won't break the bank. If you are open to other rods, there are a good many of them cheaper that will will serve you just as well. 

I keep reading that the 845 GLX is the way to go. I love the expeditor program. Ive had to use it a couple of times unfortunately. 

 

 I dont fish cranks enough to justify it. If you plan on fishing a lot of shallow cranks with it, I'd probably look elsewhere. Again I have not used the rod but a Google search for the 845 CBR GLX should bring up plenty of personal reviews.

That e6x is so light too.I pick it up and pretend its mine every time I'm in BPS

Yup, the more I look, the more I am considering  the  E6x 845c and looking to GLX for a jig rod,,,,thanks guys

my cousin in Alabama has a few of theses  fiber blend 7 ft. he loves them  every time I fish with him he has one or two out. I would like one myself

I have one of the older CBR 843 rods.  I used to have a CBR 785, but really prefer the 3 power for the shallower baits.  Like others have said, use your discount to get the GLX or NRX bottom contact rod.   I just can't justify the need for a GLX level cranking rod myself when the sensitivity needed isn't as great for the moving bait.

Shoot, pardon me. I should of clarified that they are the Fiber Blend CBR 845's. I love how they were specifically formulated for crankbait fishing and you can really tell that when fishing them. The power and action are spot on for that application in the shallow to medium range.
