Daiwa Lexa 100HL not free spinning?

Featured Replies

Have a little more than a year old lexa 100, and its not free spinning. Thinking it might be the bearings? Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

It needs torn down and properly greased/oiled. It's pretty normal for a reel to be over lubed from the factory. Plus after a year of use a good cleaning wouldn't hurt anything. The spool shaft bearing is held in place by a pin. You'll need the proper tool to remove it. The sideplate bearing is held in by a thin metal clip. Be careful it doesn't fly away when you pop it out.

I highly doubt the bearings are shot already. Probably just dirty. Send it in if you'd like $19.80 after BassResource.com discount plus shipping
