Doubles (another thread side bar)

Featured Replies

Double funeral today for my in-laws , who died five days apart this past week.  I can't describe how it felt to walk into a wake and see two caskets.  While my wife and her siblings will certainly miss their parents,  they lived more than a full life and one spouse is not being left to deal with the loss of the other.  My dad still misses my mom terribly after over three years.  My in-laws will not have to deal with that pain.

They were married for sixty years,  and while it is sad they died so close together,  it was really special having a funeral for two and sending them off together.  It felt like a celebration.

My condolences. My father passed almost 5 years ago, while day to day life is pretty much back to normal for my mother, she still has moments of grief. I don't think a wound like that will ever really heal.
