Megabass Zonda Handle Screws and Nut

Featured Replies

Anyone know what size Allen wrench is needed to take the screws out of the handle? Also what size is the reel handle nut? I just got a new handle in and want to put it on it. I tried my hedgehog screwdriver, but it didn't fit. Thanks guys.

The bolt is a 10mm and you turn it to the left to loosen it unlike other Daiwas that use the nut and those are reverse threads. The Allen wrench size is 2.5mm. I'm not home or I could be 100% on that but I'm 99% sure that's the size.

All daiwa handle nuts are 10mm as far as i know.  I own a pile of daiwa reels and they are all the same.  I would caution you to not over tighten the nut on the handle as the treads in the nut are very soft and will strip very easy and then the handle will wobble a lot.  I would not put a ratchet on it at all and just go as hard as you can with the socket in your fingers.

On the Zonda it's a bolt. The driveshaft is tapped and threaded. Just like the steez and IS reels. Some Daiwa and MB reels use a 12mm bolt also.

yea my steez are bolts but they are still 10mm if i recall correctly and they look the same until you take them apart.  Never owned a reel with a 12 but maybe someday?

J dream and other MB zillion variants use the 12mm bolt.
