I heard that JDM reels are "legendary" I might try my first JDM reel, but if you know they can be expensive, I want to know if they are worth it.  Let me know!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm trying to understand what you are asking.  Are you asking is all JDM more expensive?  No not really with the exchange rate being decent.  You can by high end reels from Shimano for 300 and under.  You can go for a Scorpion 70 (JDM Version of Curado 70) for 160 which is cheaper than the Curado 70 (199).  It just depends on what you are looking for.  Certainly there are more expensive ones like the Steez and Antares.

Well Rick, I'm sure you could always haggle them down in price... I mean, that is how you make your living...

How much do want to spend? You won't find much for under $150.

Metanium MGL off of japanlureshop. You cannot spend a better $300 in fishing in my opinion.

Not sure if troll...

Shimano Metanium MGL gets my vote as well.  Its a pleasure to fish.

Another vote for Shimano Metanium MGL for $300.

The Metanium is an awfully nice reel buuuuut, if it were my 300 bucks I would pick a Daiwa SS SV now that they are practically on clearance ( $110 off the regular price ).... ;)
