    Welcome to the forums.  This subject has been talked about a few times before.  Please use the "Search Forum," box to find other threads similar to this.  (Top right, about 1 o'clock on the page of the "Rods, Reels, and Line" Forum.)  You will get to see what more people say about your question.

     Some people have been on this site asking questions at almost a "spamming," like pace.  I hope you're not put off by some of the response so far, this is a great community with a ton of knowledge that can be gained.

    As far as your question, which reel feels best in your hands?  I own neither, but know there are many fans of both reels on here so, you probably will not go wrong with either choice, therefore it will be personal preference.

OK, some inappropriate posts are gone. Guys, this is a new member who likely has no idea how many times the Diawa vs Shimano topic has been debated. Give the man a chance. And some of you haven't been here long enough to be so snotty. Lighten up.

 

Not Rick, spend some time browsing the forums. A lot of what you want to know has been discussed. Join one of the active threads with your comments and questions. Also, when asking questions, add some background info to help us give good answers. When you ask about specific equipment, tell us what you're going use it for. You will get much better info back when you focus your questions.

Been looking at both myself and at least for me the tatula feels smoother but I like the way the curado fits my hand better. Your just gonna have to head to a bps or Cabelas or what have you and get hands on. You really can't go wrong with either one

I think that there is a chance that I will go to hell if I buy a reel that doesn't say SHIMANO on it somewhere.  So I don't.  The last time I bought a reel that didn't say SHIMANO on it I was duped, it wasn't a very good reel.  It would cast a half ounce practice plug a long ways in the store parking lot.  It didn't fish very well.  If you come across Dion Hibdon in a fishing tackle store near you, talk to him, he has a wealth of information and stories and he is willing to share, but refrain from buying the US Reels the Hibdons are currently endorsing.

 

So I don't know much about any reels other than SHIMANO.   I've heard the Diawa reels aren't bad, but you wouldn't know it from me.   My advice would be to just pick one.    Don't let my extreme reel paranoia prejudice your purchase decisions unnecessarily.

I have the curado 200i PG (lower gear ratio reel for cranking) and really like it. light, strong and smooth.

It is no win or loose here, they are both great reels. If anyone hand me anyone of them I would take it anyday. With that said different reel might serve different purpose, even different color/shape or look of the reel also play in part as well.

Tatula ct to me is in 100 size reel but reg curado is 200 size or curado 70 which is smaller than tatula CT.

daiwa always mag brake system but new curado use SVS braking system which is centifugal braking combine with dial outside for easy/quick adjust or fine tune.

I like old centifugal braking system alone like the one from old shimano reels which kind of set it and forget it. I like daiwa ct magnetic braking system which allow me to adjust the braking on the fly according to lure weight or wind condition where I think is more precise than SVS system from curado 70.

So you pick which one work or win your heart.
