eBay reels..

Featured Replies

I have a great tackle shop in my area that does great work. I've bought many a broken $5 reel on ebay and had them rebuilt and repaired, resulting in a great deal for me and more profit for the brick and mortar store that I love. Win-win for everyone, especially when I leave with $50 worth of tackle every time I walk through the door.

  • I don't know and really don't care how or why. I just enjoy the savings!

  • They often have no overhead, no lease, no advertising, no employees..etc. the margins brick and mortar stores charge are neccessary to keep the business afloat.

Those places mark up the reel x percentage over the wholesale price. The people on eBay are selling them for just a bit over cost. A lot less profit per reel but if they sell 200 it makes up for it.
