Are all reels eligible for discount at Bass Pro reel trade in?

Featured Replies

I searched, I couldn't find.

Like the title states, Can any reel be purchased at a discount by trading in an old reel. The flyer states that the spring classic is Feb 17 to Mar 5, but on a different page the reel/rod trade in is on "select reels and rods" on Feb 23 to Mar 5, but also seems to indicate that discount is based on where the price point of the reel is, regardless of maker?

For instance, an Abu Black max traded in for a Curado I series?

Yes I never had restrictions when I used the program.  I haven't used it for years though.  Last used I got a Curado E7.

Ok, great, thank you!

Just has to be in good working condition I believe

More expensive the rod/reel you buy the bigger the discount.

I believe so, but in years past certain brands (Shimano

comes to mind) did not participate in the event.

Might have been sales only, and not trade-ins, come to

think of it.

the reel that you are trading in has to be in working order.that is the only restriction.

Perfect time to trade in those non Daiwa and Shimano reels for some Shimanos and Daiwas;)

What a lot of folks do locally is by a clam pack reel that is new for $5 and use it as a trade in. When I worked at BPS the trade ins where given to the Boys Club, not sure now, but a good condition bait caster is probably overkill and a waste of a good reel. Every year at my local store they have had a $5 reel(Zebco 202 I believe) on sale during the spring sale. Check your flyer for your store.

 !!!!

I think only the BPS Pro Qualifier for $49 is excluded from the reel trade in sale.
