Looking for line recommendations for my new DC703/Metanium HG combo.

 

I have a spool of 15# PP Slick. 

 

Thoughts?

I've used as low as 10# braid on a baitcaster, even

caught my PB on that one (w/10# leader)...but now

I use 20# PP. 15# PP Slick is on my spinning gear.

 

So the answer is, of course you can use it, but you

may find digging in to be an issue with that thin of

braid...I don't have issue with the 20# digging in 

simply because I'm aware of the potential and if I

have a snag, or fight, I always strip off line afterward

before the next cast.

I typically use 40# and I don't go smaller than 30# on a BC reel for the reasons Darren mentioned above. For the rig you have there, assuming you're fishing jigs and stick baits with it, I would recommend a good quality FC line like Seaguar Tatsu or Sunline Sniper in the 12-15# range. Or if you're set on braid, I'd go with 40# Smackdown with a FC leader.

Seaguar Tatsu #12 or #15 mainline. If you want to stick with braid, Seaguar Smackdown #40 with a Tatsu leader.
