Winn grip over wraps

Featured Replies

Have any of you used these?? If so what did you think about them? I'm not talking about the Winns that are already on the Lews or Carbonlites when you buy them.Just the roll of grip tape for DIY. Was it good? Did the added weight throw off the balance? If you remove it does it ruin the cork or eva?.

I used it on an ugly Stik gx2, I upgraded shortly after to a daiwa because I noticed I needed a new rod all together. But if you put the wrap on right, it's awesome dude...I like mine a lot.

Must be they've changed over the years I used to have them on my golf clubs and as soon as they got wet they turned to slime. I know that's apples and oranges but it's the same company.

I have a friend that used the wrap. He liked it. I have a G Loomis rod we replaced a bad reel seat assembly and cork handle ( the reel would loosen itself up while in use).  We installed a complete set of split handle Winn Grips along with a new American Tackle Comfort reel seat assembly. They are amazing, I spent 40 hours fishing that rod, back in April 2016, on Dale Hollow.  The big girls we munchin Ned rigs only!  If you decide to have a rod builder fix it I highly recommend them.  That is if you do not use the wrap.
