does anyone know if i buy a lews reel off someone for extremely cheap and its not in the gear ratio i want, will they exchange it for the same reel just in a different ratio if i call up and send it off to them?

Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to call up to customer service and discuss it with them.

Nice folks there but I seriously doubt they would even consider such. But I have been wrong before so I guess its just a phone call to try. Worst thing they can say is no and hang up.

true lol, for the price im getting it at i might just live with it, its a 8.3.1 ratio lews tournament mb and im getting it for around 25 dollar range new becuase this guy says it backlashes on him too much and he does not like it. im like i can take that off your hands becuase i can cast them like a dream

That's the reel I use for top water. It's not as fast as it sounds.

And your right? definitely a steal in my opinion

I have 2 of those reels and I've never had a bad backlash. He has it set wrong or he's trying to cast a fly with it. Just keep it and use it for its intended use and buy another if you need a different ratio. If you hate it, resell it and use that money for the one you want. I use the 7.5:1 for topwaters and lipless cranks and I have another for frogs and flipping/pitching.
