Featured Replies

:DHey guys I'm in lakeland Florida on vacation and I have no clue about the bass fishing down here...anyone have tips, baits, lures, and or locations to fish in the lakeland Florida area?

I do not have a boat either so bank fishing spots would be appreciated!

And while on vacation I am going to Miami are to try and hook into a few peacock bass, any tips and baits and so on would be appreciated!

Thank You!

Tenoroc FMA, Saddle Creek Park & Lake Parker

are the most popular destinations in the Lakeland area.

All good areas. Saddle creek has a tackle shop in front that sells live bait if you need it.

I've fished all those places with worms and a few other baits for hours and all i got were a few tiny pan fish.

Be aware my experience ranges from greatest to least from Saddle Creek to Lake Parker (at least from the bank).

Saddle creek gets pretty heavy pressure especially on the weekends. A lot of people there buy bait at the tackle shop and go from there. I tend to throw more finesse techniques due to all the pressure and not wanting to buy live bait. Stick baits, shakey heads, ned rig have all worked for me there. They key on the bank is to get long casts and cover as much profitable area as possible.

My experience with Teneroc FMA is mostly with crappie. Though the same will generally apply.

Lake Parker my experience is mostly on a boat watching fireworks and one trip catfishing :P

Based on historical data, Tenoroc FMA holds the greatest promise for a trophy-class bass.

What I personally dislike about Tenoroc is the litany of laws or regs gerrymandered to specific waters.

In fact, an inside joke regarding Tenoroc advises visitors to take their lawyer fishing with them  :D

If you're in position to hire a guide there are numerous lakes in Orlando. Pm me if you need some info.
