Today when I started fishing I checked my drag to make sure it was set and when it started coming out it make a screeching loud noise, 

 

Any ideas ? Needs grease ?

That's a dry drag system and even so it shouldn't be screeching. How tight was the drag? Is the AR working correctly? Did it do this just the one time? 

drag was probably around half tight, it doesnt do it when loose but once you start to tighten it it does.

 

what does AR stand for ?

 

it functions fine, casts good, reels good, just that drag.

 

so should some grease make that all fine ?

 

 

That system doesn't use grease. It may need cleaning. I'd have to see it to diagnose further. I realize it's an inexpensive reel probably not worth sending in. If you're comfortable taking it apart go ahead and reach out if you get stuck.

when i get time i might message a pic of the insides to you to see if you can spot a problem.
