Anyone running Mercury's Vessel View Mobile? Interested to hear some reviews.

As a user of the SmartCraft gauges - I would give them a thumbs up.

The App info seems redundant for me.  And so is the needed VesselView Mobile module (available at Mercury Marine dealers for $275.

It's compatible with all Mercury SmartCraft-capable engines built since 2003 (40hp and up).

I have been thinking about that myself. I  downloaded the app to see how it worked but was unimpressed. Where it really shines is if you have a lowrance sonar then you could actually operate the motor through your sonar with greater control. With this combo I would get one in a heartbeat. I run Humminbirds though.

If you want an idea of what it does download the app for free from the App Store it will give you an idea of what it will look like if you're not running a Lawrance.

Also check out Vessel View on You Tube. Impressive. Thing is you would need a top of the line Lowrance to take full advantage.

I have a VesselView Mobile.

The advantages include cost (only $275) and ease of installation (plug and play). Nothing else other than a bluetooth enabled display that can run the app is required. I use my iPhone.

The bits of data it gives me that I appreciate the most are RPM, Coolant Temperature, Engine Hours and Observed Faults, including the codes. It also gives Speed, but I keep an eye on that on my fish finder.

So far, I'm up to 5.6 Engine Hours and my engine has thrown codes for High Voltage (when I turned on the ignition in my garage with the battery charger still plugged in) and Emergency Stop (when I accidentally pulled the kill switch while running).
