Help me round out my Jerkbait arsenal

What do you guys think about using shad colored ones like "pro blue" in waters that have no shad whatsoever? I'm sure they'd still catch fish but surely pro blue shouldn't be the best producing one on that sort of water where it might in places that shad is a main forage?

We're neighbors and we have no shad in WA lakes.  That being said, there's not a lake in WA I wouldn't choose Pro Blue first with a gun to my head...all of its variants work great in the PacNW - GP Skeleton Tennessee, PB 2, GP Sexy Shad, etc...

Vision 110 and Vision 110+1 are my favorites. I'd say Table Rock SP and GG Deadly Black Illusion would be good for your situation

Duo Realis 120 sp

Ima Flit 120 sp

LC Pointer 100 sp

LC Pointer 128 sp

Megabass Ito Vision 110+1

Rapala down deep husky jerk hj12

Rapala max rap 13 (discontinued but readily available)

Smithwick deep suspending rattlin rogue

These 8 will cover you from rip baits to jerk baits, deep water to shallow, small to large size & all water temps. Color choices are up to you. I like natural colors like perch & smelt & lake shiner, loud colors like clown, dark colors in black with flash, brown with flash, gold with flash & chrome & blue.

Good luck with your jerk bait fishing. It can be very rewarding.

As a devout Rapala user, my first choice would be a Husky Jerk in both firetiger and black/silver patterns.  After that, I've done well in cold water using the Shadow Rap in the black/silver and possibly clown pattern depending on how much visibility there is.

I'm hoping that I can get by my love of Rapala's to use some Strike King KVD baits more this year, particularly in the Ayu pattern that seems to do well regardless of the water. I don't know enough about how their patterns look in the water to provide any other pattern, sorry.

Cheers, Attila

the seller I look at most often on there is "fishing-goods-japan" I see alot of $17 onetens right now, trick darters are $10-14. shipping becomes insignificant as long as you buy a few. they run good deals every once in a while. 20% or 30% on some I think.

Just an fyi and you may already know this but didn't mention it -

Every Vision 110 on this site is "used" . May not matter if the baits are in perfect condition - but this is one lure where being a little out of whack is a problem.
